With layer upon layer of oils, I was hoping to achieve a kind of colour shifting effect but I wasn’t sure how it would turn out until it was finally complete and I took it outside… In this picture you see it (without any filters) as it appears from inside, under warm incandescent light. The painting glows with rich yellows, oranges and flecks of gold. The iridescent oils add to the drama, making the work dynamic; transforming with the light.
